Clarify your idea so customers understand it.

My Story

People are always going to ask: “So, what do you do?” They’re not looking for an essay—they want the sound bite, the simple version.

For years, I struggled with that answer. I was doing so many different things that when people asked, I’d joke: “As little as possible.” At the time it felt clever, and in a way it was true—my goal was to help companies become more efficient and grow. But here’s the thing: that answer never led to a client, and it honestly frustrated my wife.

Today, I have 4–5 answers ready depending on who I’m talking to.

Each is short, clear, and tailored to the situation. And unlike my old answer, these open the door to real conversations.

✍️ Why This Matters

Every business begins with an idea. But an idea without clarity gets lost the first time you talk to a potential customer. This module will help you shape your idea into a simple, usable plan you can actually explain. Not a 40-page business plan for the bank—just a working plan you can talk about and take action on.

To start, step away from the screen for a few minutes. Grab a pen and a sheet of paper. Write down three things:

  1. What you’re selling
  2. Who you’re selling it to
  3. Why they would care enough to buy

Don’t worry about being perfect. This is about clarity, not polish. You’ll refine it as we go.
